Polyneuropathies are conditions characterized by damage to several peripheral nerves (including the cranial nerves), they are generally symmetric (i.e., they occur on the same place on both sides of the body). They can cause muscle weakness, paralysis, numbness, tingling, pins and needles, pain or autonomic symptoms like constipation, heart rhythm abnormalities, etc.[1]
