Haemolytic anaemia

Haemolytic anaemia (haemo- [blood] and -lysis [destruction, by rupture of the cell wall]) are conditions characterized by early red blood cell death, due to the rupture of their cell walls.[1] The body compensates for the resulting loss of red blood cells, leading to increased erythropoietin production, leading to increased erythropoiesis in the bone marrow.[1]
