Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs or doi as they usually appear in citations on this Wiki) are unique identifiers assigned to most journal articles published after 1990. The journal article they are assigned to can be located online via typing http://dx.doi.org/x where x is the article's DOI. For example, if the doi is 10.5858/arpa.2012-0294-RS then the corresponding link would be http://dx.doi.org/10.5858/arpa.2012-0294-RS.
